Nothing - Janet Wentworth

Nothing
Nothing is a life without love
A mansion without passion
Who cares?
About the antiques in the rooms above
Or the
Living room below in the latest fashion

It’s nothing
If your loved one is a philanderer and tells a lie
Can you hear the birds or see the sky

It’s nothing
When a beloved is first gone
One is disconnected and forlorn

It’s nothing
But blackness to be drunk

The good news is
Nothing can be something if
You can turn it all around
Love the world around you and the smallest
House can be a mansion
Your great-grandmother's teacup
A symbol of beauty
From another dimension

Your lost loved on
Really isn’t lost if you look
Around and make the connection.

If nothing is unawareness
Then is something love and awareness?
