Sonoma's Friday Writers Read

Last night Sonoma's Friday Writers read some of our work at Reader's Books. This was our first public appearance as a group and we had a great time sharing short stories and poetry.
The group was introduced by Robyn Makaruk who read her poem about the group "Humility". Janet Wentworth, John Field, Meta Strauss, Michael Miley, Joan Shepherd, Lucille Hamilton, Judy Theo-Lehner, Mani Whittaker, Jean Wong, Donna Campbell, Helen Rowntree and Steve Bakalyar followed, completing the evenings entertainment.
John Field's "Why They Joined the Tea Party" presented a poetic political statement, Helen Rowntree's "The Weeping Quilt" was a nostalgic commentary about a quilt hanging at the DeYoung's recent exhibit. Judy Theo -Lehner's "Confessions of an Allergy Sufferer" and Joan Shepherd's "Internet Dating" brought peals of laughter from the crowd....and there was much, much more.
If you missed this performance, we hope you make it to our next one! It was an interesting and fun evening for all.
